I Wonder What The Books Will Say

I wonder what our great, great grandchildren will think…

I wonder what our great, great grandchildren will think about what we are doing right now when they read about COVID 19 in their history books.

I wonder if they will be shocked and amazed that the US had millions more deaths than other countries, yet many Americans fought for their right to go out without masks and get them and others sick.

Or, I wonder if they will look back at all the people who stayed home and wore masks and laugh, because the virus wasn’t real or a real threat. I wonder…

I wonder if they will study the psychology behind mass hysteria because the entire virus was a hoax. Maybe they would find the placebo affect to be much more powerful than we ever knew.

Or, I wonder if they will study the psychology behind mass denial. I wonder if they will read in awe and wonder, about the time that a ravaging virus swept through the world and millions of Americans refused to believe that it was a real thing or a real threat, resulting in astronomical death tolls in the US, one of the most ‘advanced’ countries in the world. I wonder…

I wonder if they will find that millions of Americans had become so accustomed to their lives that they would have done anything to evade responsibility for the virus. Maybe we were too entitled and lacked the original thought, self-inquiry and self-control to handle such great responsibility.

Or, I wonder if they will find that Americans were being lied to. Maybe the deaths were staged. I wonder if they paid people to pretend like they died and gave them a new identity. Maybe the numbers were cooked and the powers that be wanted America to look like the dumbest country on the planet. I wonder…

I wonder what they will write in the books. Will they still be able to see all our comments here on social media? Maybe they will study our comments and try to figure out why whoever was wrong was so wrong, and how they could be so blind.

Or maybe they will delete all of these conversations and rewrite the narrative. I wonder…
